The Benefits of

Dog Daycare

It's obvious that dogs have a deep instinct to be social. It makes them happy and it makes them form bonds that are never forgotten! This socialisation comes with a great many benefits and these include,

  • Being more comfortable around people and dogs.

  • Learning positive social behaviours

  • Finding their BFFF (Best furry friend forever)

While at Buddy's your dog will learn how to socialise and become part of a group, they will learn key skills needed in the open world about their approach to other dogs and humans.

A structured day is always a great way to go, as with children, dogs also benefit from this, and thats why our routine will go a little something like this..

  • 7am - 10:30am - Supervised and safe open play, including playing on the equipment, rest if they want to, human interaction, sniffing, playing and running.

  • 10:30am - 12:30pm - Time for separating into size and temperament appropriate packs and starting some structured activities! these are detailed above.

  • 12:30pm - 1:30pm - Time for a calm down and relax in a crate (if owner has signed to permit) or on a bed in a smaller area to allow the dogs to not become over stimulated in such an exciting environment and prepare for a fun filled afternoon! The centre will also get its much needed spruce up cleaning ready for the afternoon, and 'pack members' can start to prepare their afternoon activities

  • 1:30pm - 2:30pm - Open play once more encouraging that socialisation and play, all under supervision.

  • 2:30pm - 5pm - Structured activities in appropriately separated packs once more.

  • 5pm - 7pm - Time for open play once more with an emphasis on calming down and maybe doing some cuddle time with our trained team. Possible one to one time with a few lucky dogs to work on something breed specific.  ( pointer? let's play some scent games , collie? let's practice those tricks! )

Things To Think About...

We do not turn away dogs based on breed, unless banned under the dangerous dogs act.  To ensure the safety of all our staff, we require all dogs staying with us for daycare to meet the following criteria:

  • Dogs must first undergo a Screening appointment with our team leaders, this is a 1 hour appointment and is usually £5 however is currently on special offer and is completely FREE!

  • All dogs must be at least 8 weeks of age or older, and fully vaccinated.

  • It is preferred that dogs 12 months or older are spayed or neutered, and bitches must not be allowed to season in the daycare. Depending on development, sooner alteration may be required by our Daycare. Intact males may join, upon a successful screening session.

  • All dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations. Pet parents must submit written proof of canine parvovirus, canine distemper, infectious canine hepatitis (adenovirus), leptospirosis and other relevant diseases. Vaccination against other diseases such as kennel cough (Bordetella bronchiseptica /Canine parainfluenza virus) may also be required. Vaccinations must be given by a vet 48 hours before attending daycare (7 days prior preferred).

  • All dogs must be in good health. Pet parents will certify that their dog(s) are in good health and have not been ill with a communicable condition within the last 30 days.

  • Upon admission, all dogs must be free of any condition that could potentially jeopardize other guests, including fleas or ticks. Dogs that have been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days will require veterinarian certification of health to be admitted or readmitted.

  • All dogs must be non-aggressive and not food or toy-protective. Pet parents will certify their dogs have not harmed or shown any aggressive or threatening behavior toward any person or dog. The safety and health of all of our guests is our top priority.

  • All dogs must have a complete, up-to-date, and approved application on file to attend daycare with us.

  • Unfortunately at this time, Buddy's are unable to accept homeopathic vaccination alternatives due to legislation requirements.
